Who We Are

We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children from underprivileged communities and serving as a catalyst for upliftment in impoverished areas. We believe every child deserves access to quality education, facilities, and a safe and nurturing environment. Our programs and services are designed to provide children with the resources they need to succeed and thrive.

From tutoring and mentoring programs to after-school activities, we strive to create opportunities that help children develop the skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential. Our goal is to empower children from underprivileged communities to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Transforming Futures Together

Community Kitchen

Situated in Onderstegaaitjie, more commonly referred to as Covid Valley, Smutsville, this kitchen is a beacon of hope for the local community. In an area where poverty and food insecurity are rampant, our community kitchen provides a much-needed source of nutritious meals for families and individuals who struggle to make ends meet.

SPORTS ACADEMY

We understand that not all children are academically inclined; every child has unique talents and strengths which should be developed and nurtured. Whilst some excel academically others do so in areas such as the arts or sports. This was the inspiration behind starting a Sports Academy in the Smutsville Community.

Early Development Centre

Cherished is thrilled to partner with Masithandane, a well established, highly respected community organisation, on our early development center initiative. Our collaboration will allow us to leverage off of our respective strengths and resources to provide the most comprehensive range of services to the children of Smutsville.

Annual Festive Treat Box

Cherished’s annual Christmas treat box initiative has become a much-anticipated event for the children of Smutsville. What started off as a small initiative four years ago, supplying 250 children with a box of treats, has steadily grown to reach 700 children last year.
